There are numerous problems facing the Muslim community in Ghana – high illiteracy levels, low living standards, marginalization, prejudice, poor knowledge regarding the religion, etc.
Conscious of this, An-Nur has taken up the task of organizing monthly seminars, workshops or training sessions at which resource persons would lead participants in discussing these issues and exploring possible interventions towards alleviating these problems.
Key in all of this is participation of the audience through question asking and making suggestions. This way the ordinary Muslim will develop a feeling of responsibility to take action in his/her own individual, or in a concerted way, in order to help solve our problems. We will also teach core principles of Islam as well as skills needed for one to have a balanced life.
The events are educative and help foster togetherness among Muslims.
