“You are the best! You are the champ because...” PDF Print E-mail

I want to start my conversation with you; with one beautiful hadith qudsi .Allah says in this sacred Hadith: ”I am as my servant thinks I am. I am with him when he makes mention of me, If he makes mention of Me to himself, I make mention of Him to Myself. And if he makes mention of me in an assembly, I make mention of Him in an assembly better than it. If he draws near to me a span of the hand length, I draw to near him an arms length. If He draws near me an arms length, I draw near to Him a fathom’s length and if he comes to me walking, I Go to Him at speed.” I want to draw the theme of my conversation with you from the phrase “If he makes mention of Me in an assembly I make mention of him in an assembly better than it”. But before I continue, let me pose just some few simple questions to you. Do you know that it is one of your primary responsibilities as a Muslim to make sure that the message of salvation goes far and wide? Do you contribute in making “mention of Allah in Assemblies”? Do you “advertise” Allah to those who do not believe? Allah is saying in Sura Hajj verse 78:”He has chosen you [to convey His message of Islamic monotheism to mankind by inviting them to his religion of Islam] and He has not laid upon you any hardship”. The prophet said in Hadith Qudsi ”Let not any one of you belittle himself. They (His companions) said: O messenger of Allah, how can anyone of us belittle himself? He said: He finds a matter  concerning Allah  about which he should say something , and he does not  say (it), so Allah (SWT) says to him on the day of resurrection: What prevented you from saying something about such-and- such and such –and- such.? He say; it (it was) out of fear of people. Then He says; rather it is I whom you should fear.”

So dear Muslim. Do not belittle yourself. Make mention of Allah to people around you. You do not need to be a Sheikh or Malam to do that. The little you know let others benefit from it. Even if you do not have the knowledge, you can help finanacial-wise or logistic-wise. Support any dawa group in their work and you will never regret it. Before I leave you off the hook let me refresh your heart with verse 110 of sura Aali imraan. “ You ( true believers of Islamic Monotheism and real followers of prophet Muhammad and his sunnah) are the best ever raised up for mankind. You enjoin Al-maruf (i.e. Islamic monotheism and all that Islam has ordained) and forbid al-munkar (polytheism, disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden) and you believe in Allah. Yes you are the best ever raised up for mankind because you champion the cause of Allah and you believe in Him.

"The lost animal in the desert."
I chanced on the hadith below and I thought it’s simply too fascinating enough not to share it with others. Al-Harith bin Suwaid reported: I went to Abdullah to visit him while he was sick. He related to us two narrations .One from himself and the other from the messenger of Allah saying-"Allah is more pleased with the repentance of His servant than a man who encamps at a place where his life is jeopadized. But he has his ridding animal carrying his food and water. He then rests his head and sleeps for a short while and wakes to find his ridding animal gone.(He starts looking for it) and suffers from severe heat and thirst or what Allah wishes (him to suffer from). He then says "I will  go back to my place”. He returns and sleeps again, and then (while getting up), he raises his head to find his riding animal standing beside him. Allah is more pleased by his servant’s repentance than (the pleasure of) this man on finding his ridding animal and food [Bukhari 6308].
